In this link story, the author attempts to make a case on how a Google Chrome book could have a place in the enterprise. This may be the craziest thing the has come across my news stream lately. Here are some reasons that the Chromebook has no place in the enterprise:
- There is still a large majority of enterprise applications that require Internet Explorer as the browser.
- There is a law suit underway by 32 state Attorney Generals against Google for privacy issues surrounding their browser and Google Drive/Docs services (yes, this includes the paid version).
- The Citrix solution thus far from the Chromebook is less than desirable and stable at this point.
- While it doesn’t spell it out in the specs, it most likely doesn’t come with encrypted storage which is required for several industries.
