As part of my day to day job and for families/friends, the default setup has been to backup the iOS device to iCloud.  This has resulted in never connecting these devices to iTunes on a Mac/PC.  This doesn’t become an issue until an iOS is bricked/disabled and you have no way of knowing the last back up of the device and whether or not it is safe to reset to factory default then restore.  This seems like an easy read only piece of information that Apple could easily add to iCloud.com for its customers.
