The Washington Time reports that the Berkeley City Council wants to tax emails sent in order to save their beloved post office. Other than the fact that the USPS has been trying to figure this out for years, it appears that the email is the wrong messaging platform to be taxing.
According to a Dec 2012 report, OMG, the text message turns 20. But has SMS peaked?, from CNN there are 8.6 trillion text messages sent each year.
Where as there are 145 Billion emails sent each year according to Mashable’s report, Did You Know 144.8 Billion Emails Are Sent Every Day?.
