Cleveland Clinic Provides Updates from their “State of the Clinic” via Twitter

This morning Cleveland Clinic held their “State of the Clinic” in which they used Twitter to provide quotes from their CEO Dr Cosgrove.  This is the first time that I have seen a healthcare system provide this kind of insight via Social Media.  These tweets are worth reading as they provide insight into one of the nation’s leading medical systems.

“@ClevelandClinic: Dr. Toby Cosgrove opens #StateoftheClinic calling this moment in healthcare “a time of hope and fear” in an “age of exploding knowledge."”

“@ClevelandClinic: Mission remains: "Striving to be the world’s leader in patient experience, clinical outcomes, research and education. #StateoftheClinic”

“@ClevelandClinic: Dr. Cosgrove says @ClevelandClinic will seek to extend its integrated care model & leverage clinical care, IP, consulting #StateoftheClinic”

“@ClevelandClinic: To achieve value-based care, must do things better, faster & at lower cost, Dr. Cosgrove says #StateoftheClinic”

“@ClevelandClinic: Highlighting cost savings, last year @ClevelandClinic eliminated 12,000 lab tests, saving $1.2 million #StateoftheClinic”

“@ClevelandClinic: "We must accelerate the rate of change,” Dr. Cosgrove tells staff in closing #StateoftheClinic “This is our time."”
